We were born after this world had been exterminated.
We've never known how the world looked hundreds of years ago.
It is said that was a blue sky world with forests stretched for thousands of miles and endless seas. Mankind used only one home in the whole universe for mining and beneficiation while exhausting and demolishing the Earth. Regularly wars among themselves for resources until someone pressed the red button... and the world disappeared. Then the planet has taken revenge splashing out whole power and hate for the destruction of life. The once blue planet turned into a grey, porous wormhole and faults infertile surface.
All we have left of the past world is the devastated land from which fire still breaks out, and the once flowering fauna is tightly hidden in museums. They are scattered over the scorched soil, where the remnants of the former fauna are stored in the places of their former existence. The main place is the "fauna temple" and no one knows who built it. Carved into the rock, the main marble hall with the endless branch, and no one fully knows how many mysteries of the past it hides. Entrance there is available only to the guardians and those chosen ones who are lucky enough to get the opportunity to touch a living plant with their own hands and breathe in the freshest air filled with pure oxygen.
This is all we have left of the planet none of us have ever seen. We are the Guardians. We must guard these patches of our planet's past, waiting for the opportunity to replant the entire planet with living plants and humanity will be able to breathe again freely and walk on the surface of the New Earth.
